Twin towns or sister cities are a form of legal and social agreement between towns, cities, counties, oblasts, prefectures, provinces, regions, states, and even countries in geographically and politically distinct areas to promote cultural and commercial ties.
The modern concept of town twinning, conceived after the Second World War in 1947, was intended to foster friendship and understanding between different cultures and between former foes as an act of peace and reconciliation, and to encourage trade and tourism.
In recent times, town twinning has increasingly been used to form strategic international business links between member cities.

One night I found myself roaming between Wikipedia's pages, in particular between cities, jumping through them following sister cities and twin towns. Driven by curiosity I start looking for a map or graph showing those type of relations between cities but I didn't find one, so I end up building it.

Relations between cities are collected from Wikipedia, the graph is rendered with Sigma.js and layout is arranged with ForceAtlas2 alghoritm.
The data base is far away to be perfect or complete: if you notice bugs or want to say something about the project or contribute feel free to post a comment below.

Expand database, improve parsing algorithm, improve the server side graph construction algorithm in order to retrieve graphs data faster and using less resources.
